Internal Recruiter/Junior HR – Music/Film/TV Industry - London
Internal recruiter and junior HR person required to progress to a full HR role and eventual HR Manager, for a software house with client sectors of music, film/TV and consumer products licensing.
Salary: Circa £25,000 plus discretionary bonus and benefits package.
Location: Near Euston and King’s Cross, London
THE COMPANY:
The world leader in the provision of software solutions to the Music and Entertainment industry requires an internal recruiter to assist with a busy period of recruitment by conducting first interviews and some HR duties. Over time, the role will transition into more of a full-blown HR role with the potential to move eventually to HR Manager.
The working environment here is very pleasant with a casual dress code, laid back and friendly atmosphere, but also hard-working and dynamic with very interesting client sectors. You would be the first dedicated internal recruiter in the company so this is very much a ground-floor opportunity, but within a stable and established company, leaders in their field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The experience required for this role is as follows:
- An HR qualification
- Human Resources experience
- Experience of internal recruitment for a company (not an external recruitment agency!), including interviewing candidates face-to-face
- A “salesy” personality: Sales abilities enough to “sell” the company in interview, although this is a “product” you can sell with conviction and integrity, as this is a great company to work for and the best at what they do.
Please note the above experience is essential. You require all of the above attributes in order for to be eligible for this role.
THE ROLE:
Working closely in conjunction with their long-standing sole-supplier recruitment agency, your initial duties would consist mainly of conducting face-to-face first interviews, effectively promoting the company, setting tests for candidates and then reporting back to various department managers the suitability of candidates for the final interview round. There will be some additional HR duties. After this initial tranche of recruitment, the interview activity will quieten and the HR aspect of the role will increase: At that point the company ranks will have swollen to the point where they need a full-time HR person, enabling you to make the perfect transition into the HR side of things.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Here’s a chance to break into these interesting industry sectors of music, film and TV without needing prior experience in them! The next step career-wise here is to transition into a full HR role and longer-term, the opportunity is to grow to HR Manager.
Perhaps right now you’re in a large corporate environment with centralised recruitment and have become fed up with the utter dysfunction that can exist in such companies: Here’s the chance to move into a more dynamic, faster-moving, effective situation where you can really make a difference and be a “bigger fish in a smaller pond”, if that takes your fancy.
Overall, this is a lovely place to work - it's a privately-owned company and feels more like a family company, not at all institutionalised - everyone has a stake, everyone has a say. Being music, entertainment and film it's an interesting industry to work in too, with a wide range of clients both local and foreign.
