Joining as a PHP Developer / Software Engineer you will work alongside other server developers maintaining API and admin tools, developing new features and providing ongoing performance optimisation within the API and databases. Ultimately it will be your role to work closely with the client applications team to deliver reliable, efficient web services to support new and existing client platforms.
To qualify... You should be able to showcase some prior experience as a PHP Developer (this needn’t be commercial experience if you can demonstrate a range of personal projects) with key skills that cover the following:
- Strong experience of PHP is essential (their environment is PHP 5x, utilising the CodeIgniter framework).
- A thorough working knowledge of MySQL and optimised SQL queries.
- Strong working knowledge of: JSON, HTTP, XML, REST, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, OpenSSL crypto keys and certificates.
Any exposure to the following would be advantageous: Sphinx, RabbitMQ, Django, Celery, Python, MySQL, Debian, Redhat, Amazon S3, Amazon SES and Amazon CloudFront. Also the ability to demonstrate good code design principles would be perfect.
