This London based charity is looking for a Head of Finance / Deputy Director of Resources to work closely with the Director of Resources. In a recent restructure the organisations finance and resource functions have merged and our client is looking for a dynamic finance professional that can support the Director of Resources, and deputise in her absence.
The Head of Finance / Deputy Director of Resources is responsible for the development of the organisation's strategic and operation of accounting and reporting function, in line with strategic plan and the evolving changing needs of the organisation. This position will also deputise for the Director of Resources when necessary.
Duties will include:
Lead, manage and develop the Accounts team
Propose and, when approved, implement changes to the structure of the Accounts team to meet the needs of new services as these are developed
Keep the Director of Resources informed of complex accounting and control issues as they arise; advise on solutions.
Lead on the development and amendment of Finance and Accounts policies as required
Payroll - working with the People team manage the external payroll provider
Ensure risk policy is reviewed and is fit for purpose
Devise and lead the timetable and delivery of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
Candidates applying will be educated to degree level, or equivalent written and analytical skills. You will be a qualified accountant and have a thorough practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques. Experience in developing relevant organisational policies to reflect legislative and organisational changes is required together with experience of preparing financial accounts for audit. Knowledge and experience of SORP preferred.
