The Company:

The Green Recruitment Company is representing one of the largest wind developers in the UK – operating onshore and offshore. This client are currently in a phase of recruitment and hence require an Electrical Engineer with experience in onshore design and commissioning. This role will be focussed on large scale onshore projects ranging from 5MW to 60MW in capacity.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be the project expert for electrical systems during the phase of project construction. This will involve a number of different wind farm layouts, platform concepts and onshore substation solutions. A major aspect of this electrical engineering role will be to lead cable system installations and evaluate cable routes. This role will sit between the project managers and resident engineers. Previous hands on skills is preferable but the role itself will be mainly advisory work to the existing engineering team.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring quality of the work package, driving electrical solutions and advising subcontractors. This role will report to the Senior Project Manager and will be entirely site based.

Requirements:

· A degree or equivalent in electrical engineering.

· Experience in electrical power system engineering preferable dealing with onshore/offshore wind.

· An understanding of project management for energy, wind or oil/gas industry projects is desirable.

· Knowledge of switchgears, transformers, protection systems and onshore cables is required, and familiarity with HVDC transmission, wind turbine generators and transformer stations would be advantageous.
