Joining as a Field Support Engineer / Desktop Support Technician you will work on client site in Southend, Essex providing essential outsourced IT support expertise. As a key member of the onsite support function you will deliver effective IT support, resolving problems efficiently whilst maintaining effective communications and rapport with the central Farringdon Operations Centre.
Duties will cover: Resolving client technical issues ensuring a first time fix; installing hardware/software; troubleshooting network problems; replacing parts and equipment as required; escalating issues to the technical manager; keeping the client informed of issues and representing the company at all time.
To qualify... You will need to be a customer focussed, technology savvy IT professional (Field Support Engineer / Desktop Support Technician / IT Support Exec or similar) with skills/experience that covers the following:
- Microsoft Windows platforms - in particular Windows XP and Windows 7.
- Microsoft Server platforms.
- Microsoft Office Versions.
- IT networking, switching and routing.
- Connectivity including routers, firewalls and switches.
- Remote desktop and remote support software.
- The internals of a PC and the ability to identify and rectify a hardware fault.
- The processes used in ConnectWise by completing assigned training materials and blueprints on the ConnectWise University.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate technical issues to all levels and build a rapport easily.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Driving Licence.
