Our Client:
Our client is a leading UK based renewable energy company dealing with multiple onshore and offshore wind farm projects. The client is keen to optimise performance and to promote the benefits of wind technology in order to meet the company’s growth ambitions.
The Role:
The role is for a Wind Turbine Technician to lead a team in supporting our clients’ onshore portfolio with their older turbines (10 to 20 years old). This will involve both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work on the turbines when necessary; carrying out blade repairs and inspections; as well as providing a turbine breakdown service.
Responsibilities:
• Guiding and supporting the Wind Turbine Technician team
• Liaising with management on behalf of your team
• Decision making on the benefits of replacing components
• Solving electro/mechanical problems on the turbines themselves
• Planning what tools and labour are required to be sent to individual jobs
• Diagnosis of faults within turbine gear boxes; determination of whether repair or exchange is required
• Performing and reporting writing on minor blade repairs
• Managing major component exchange working with up to 8 other technicians on a turbine
Essential:
• Wind turbine inspections and repairs experience
• Our clients uses Vestas WD34 and Siemans 1.3 turbines
• Flexibility of working days/hours
• Ability to work in isolation and as part of the team
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead a team
• Ability to make decisions on behalf of the team
