Overall Purpose of Post
Tring School in Hertfordshire are looking to appoint a Learning Support Interventions Teacher with QTS to join our skilled and committed team. The main purpose of the post is to improve the Literacy and numeracy ability of the lowest level learners in KS3 and most vulnerable learners in KS4.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
You will be required to work with small groups and 1:1 students who are below Level 1 on the National Curriculum in addition to mainstream. Experience of SEN, with an OCR Certificate or Diploma in SpLD, and knowledge of tests and assessments for Literacy and Numeracy would be an advantage. You will also be expected to assist in the ongoing training of a large team of Teaching Assistants.
Knowledge - Essential/Desirable
- Knowledge of tests and assessments for Literacy and Numeracy
Qualifications - Essential/Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - OCR Certificate or Diploma in SpLD (Specific Learning Difficulties)
Experience - Essential/Desirable
- Experience of SEN - Experience of leading small groups or working on one to one basis - Experience of using Individual Education Plans (IEPs) - Experience of using ICT
Skills - Essential/Desirable
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
