Retail Systems Delivery Manager
The Retail Systems Delivery team are responsible for delivering change on all store based systems. Systems include; EnactorPOS, EnactorCRM and the custom built store promotions engine. This includes new software and also upgrades and patches to existing software.
The individual will be responsible for the project management and detailed requirements gathering for these systems, as well the resource and line management of the team responsible for delivering change. They will meet with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and offer consultancy on retail system specific issues or questions. They will also be a key contributor in shaping the overall strategy for the retail systems environment and architecture.Although the teams' focus will be the delivery of change, they will also be the 3rd line escalation point for technical issues otherwise dealt with by the Retail Systems Support team. The individual will need to assure that the SLA's in dealing with such issues are met. In addition to the above, the position is also responsible for supplier management, ensuring that the vendors deliver quality solutions, on time and to budget.
DELIVERY & SERVICE
o Ensure delivery of quality solutions, on-time and on-budget with effective support model to meet required SLA
o Resource Management - ability to work to challenging timescales, jugging multiple work streams at one time
o Pro-active approach to reducing solution defects and rework
o Attention to detail - architect and deliver solutions which meet the business requirement whilst considering future supportability and overall architecture. Ensure fit-for-use and fit-for-purpose products are delivered.
o Aid in the transition from development to support
o Constant focus to meet and exceed SLA's, identify improvements and monitor for potential issues
o Shape and enforce team standards, seek ways to further improve these and ensure their adoption across the team
o Ensure all areas are thoroughly documented for support purposes
o Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and manage customer expectations
o Proven track record as a resource manager
o Demonstrable line management skills - professional development of individuals in the team, performance management
o Recruit talent - able to interview effectively in order to assess an individual's suitability for the team (technical and cultural fit)
o Encourage open and clear communication promoting working practises built around trust and team work
o Solid experience on Point of Sale systems, e.g. Retail Java, BTE Store 6 and BeanStore
o An understanding of the Java runtime environment and application servers, e.g. Tomcat, IIS
o Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
o Knowledge of operational aspects of IT - RTO, RPO, DR, Business Continuity
o Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server technology
o Knowledge of Deployment Technology such as Symantic Ghost
o Broad understanding of IT technical knowledge and practices
Any experience of the following applications would be advantageous:- Delarue ISA, Girovend
Good analytical skills with an aptitude for problem resolution
Focus on delivery - ability to work to strict deadlines with good planning, scheduling, monitoring and organisational skills
Manage by exception - communicate effectively within the project team and to all stakeholders, escalate as appropriate
Learn from experience - incorporate lessons learnt from previous projects and document lessons for future use. Ensure this practise is adopted across the team.
Ability to write both user and technical documentation
