Robert Half Finance and Accounting is pleased to be working with a technology consultancy business who operates globally and is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team in the Corporate HQ just outside Reading.
The Assistant Accountant will be expected to assist the Head of Finance in all aspects of financial accounts which will include helping ensure the accurate and timely completion of tasks for the month end to be reported with the pharmaceuticals time line, to assist with preparation of tax and audit work And monitoring the company's cash position. The Assistant Accountant's Treasury responsibilities will include Bank Reconciliations, Cash flow Forecasting, and complying with Fraud Policy. The Key performance Indicators will include regular monitoring of cash balances, payments and receipts, The bank reconciliation is reviewed twice monthly, with one of them being at the end of the month to coincide with the month-end accounts processing. The 4 week cash flow forecast updated weekly for the Head of Finance. There is also a 12 months rolling cash forecast updated for review by Head of Finance. Month end Duties for the Assistant Accountant will include preparation of key balance sheet reconciliations and schedules such as prepayments, stock provision and sales rebate schemes, there are also responsibilities for preparation and posting of journals, analysis of certain P&L accounts and Ad-hoc analysis. The Assistant Accountant will be expected to assist in the quarterly preparation of the company's VAT return.The Assistant Accountant will be in charge of sales invoices generated by the Finance Department which will include communicating with the relevant internal departments and third parties to ensure timely and accurate processing of recharges, rebates, royalties and any other income. The Assistant Accountant will also be involved in the company Tax and Statutory Audits so they will be assisting the Company Accountant with the production of P11D's, monthly analysis of key profit and loss accounts, assistance with preparation of key schedules for the half yearly & yearly audits and will be responding to queries raised by audit team during statutory audits.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this role is between £18,000 and £25,000 depending on experience, study support and pension included.
