Robert Half Technology is seeking a high-calibre Desktop Support Manager / Team Leader for the desktop services division of an international broker-dealer firm in the City of London. The opening for the team leader/manager has come about after an internal promotion. In addition, the role offers significant career potential as the Head of Infrastructure is making this hire to plan for succession to broader Infrastructure Manager role as his right hand person. The client has also made very heavyweight hires at CEO and senior executive level and is in significant growth mode internationally.
Key responsibilities:- Managing the daily operations of the firm's 1st/2nd desktop and server support services.- Managing a team of 5- 0 staff, including hiring, training, scheduling work assignments and conducting evaluations/personal development plans.- Monitoring response times, evaluating user satisfaction levels and recommending improvements to support processes.- Evaluating and managing technical support systems hardware and software and recommending upgrades or changes.- Negotiating, writing and reporting on internal and external service level agreements and ensuring these evolve organically to meet changing business needs. - Contributing to the infrastructure & support IT strategy. Key requirements:- Smart, either a degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience with certifications e.g. MCSE, MCITP, MCSA - Excellent interpersonal, business management and customer-service skills. - Strong leadership skills with substantial experience in a managerial /team lead role (at least 5) in a service desk / helpdesk /desktop services capacity demonstrating capability in instituting strong support processes and monitoring delivery against service levels. - Strong experience of the financial markets domain is essential with the ability face off to senior stakeholders in this arena- Demonstrable experience within previous career of supporting hardware and Microsoft software and hardware bringing strong knowledge of Windows operating system platforms, , Microsoft Applications, Smartphones/Tablet devices and Network Fundamentals so as to be able to prove capability to support personnel & be seen as the go to person for more complex support issues.
Salary & Benefits
