They require a Key Stage 2 Class Teacher to work with children who have been permanently excluded and with children on dual roll, 2 day placements.
In addition to carrying out the duties of a Class Teacher, the post holder will be expected to carry out the following where appropriate:
- Teaching in the Centre.
- To provide effective teaching to children with BESD that raises their educational
attainment, removes barriers to learning and prepares them for transition to their long
term educational placement.
- Provide clear structures for lessons that maintain pace, motivation and challenge,
which also takes account of individual learning styles.
- Assess and analyse the impact of learning and use this knowledge to improve and
expand learning opportunities for children.
- Create and develop a stimulating learning environment for the teaching and learning
of all children.
- To plan and deliver In-Service training, regarding BESD, in removing barriers to
learning and related areas, to schools and professional colleagues.
- To devise programmes for supporting pupils' reintegration to school.
