Location: N. Yorkshire
I am looking for a senior infrastructure Engineer with a background in Linux ( Red Hat / CentOS ). The primary duties within this role will be the management of the data centre (with 2 more to be added in the near future). You will need to manage deployments in the data centre and undertake general server management, maintenance and support. In addition to this you will be working with the development teams to diagnose issues and take part in general fault finding.
This is an all round opportunity which will also allow you to take up a 'Dev Ops' role within the company. As well as the core systems administration element of the role, the ideal candidate would have experience of Networking (TCP/IP, Cisco, Firewalls, Routers, Switches), some coding and also the development of systems. In addition to this, if you have any experience of Java environments (JBOSS, J2EE, Tomcat) and application support then you will definitely be of interest to my client.
The key skills required for this role include the following:
Tomcat, J2EE, JBoss, (Desirable)
kvm virtualisation using libvirt,
The technical skills are of great importance in this role, but in order to be successful you will also need to demonstrate that you are the right person for the company.
You must be a confident person who is able to get involved in team discussions, passing on your knowledge for the good of the company. However, you must also be a great team player, recognising other people's strengths and accepting other colleague's ideas. In order to be considered you must demonstrate your willingness and ability to pick up new technologies, or use technologies which you have not had to during your career. You will be a 'sharp' candidate who is able to be diligent and research answers efficiently when faced with a scenario you have not been faced with before. You must be able to work flexible hours due to their international standing.
This is a senior role, with great responsibility and therefore a salary is on offer which will reflect this. The salary range is between £50-70k depending on experience.
