School: St Mark's West Essex Catholic School, Harlow, Essex
Hours: 8.40am - 3.30pm; Monday to Friday (fixed term for one year)
Salary: £15,288 - £16,281 including outer fringe, pro-rata for term-time

St Mark's West Essex Catholic School in Harlow in Essex are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our skilled and committed team as soon as possible.

You will work as part of the Learning Support Team in supporting and including students with learning difficulties and disabilities in mainstream classes. You will provide support to the teacher and pupils in lessons and support male pupils with personal care including toileting. Due to the requirement for personal care of male students, this job is suitable for a male Learning Support Assistant.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:


- GCSE's A*-C or equivalent in Maths, English and Science

- Successful experience working with children in a Secondary School environment

- Experience of supporting pupils with personal care including toileting

- Experience of leading small groups or working on one to one basis

- Experience of using Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

- Experience planning, delivering and evaluating programmes of work that meet teaching and learning objectives

- Experience of using ICT

- Ability to show initiative and work in a team
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written

Regular and on-going training is organised.
