You will begin your career selling classified adverts to businesses either in magazines or on websites. Working to daily, weekly and monthly targets, most of your business will be transacted over the phone, so you must enjoy telephone sales work and be a naturally inquisitive person who enjoys helping businesses to achieve their goals. You will be joining a large and highly sociable team who are very successful and competitive. Full training in negotiation, selling, new business and account management skills will be offered in the form of a 2 week initial sales training programme. Subsequent internal and external training programmes will be included in your personal development plan. This career development and training will be a constant feature of your role to allow you to progress up the ladder.This role is suited to candidates who enjoy challenges, meeting targets and working in a role which offers daily variety.

As the role is a sales pathway it will suit people interested in the sales and business side of publishing. This role calls for excellent communication skills as you will be talking to a huge range of businesses and advertising agencies so you will have to be able to think on your feet and adapt to your clients' needs.
