UNIX/Linux Engineer, Solaris Specialist - Banking - 50-65K+

A top tier global bank is looking to hire a Solaris focused UNIX/Linux Technical Specialist to join their UNIX team inLondon. The role will involve managing, developing and maintaining critical UNIX infrastructure, with a mixture of Projects and high level Troubleshooting activities. The Solaris UNIX engineer will be a subject matter expert for the bank so a good breadth and depth of knowledge of enterprise UNIX estates and environments is important.
Ideal skill set/ technical environment:
- Strong Solaris 8, 10, SPARC and x86 skills both for engineering and supporting
- Sun and HP Hardware in multiple site environment
- Virtualisation; Containers and LDOM's
- Patch Management and Systems Monitoring
- NFS and SAMBA Deployments, CMDB/CMS development
- UNIX infrastructure process automation
Banking experience is preferably but not essential if the engineer has strong technical and business facing skills. This is therefore a fantastic opportunity for an experienced UNIX engineer to get enterprise infrastructure experience and exposure in a bank that has a strong work life balance and clear long term direction.
