We have an opportunity for a Permanent Progression Mentor and Careers Guidance Co-Ordinator to start to work within a highly successful and ambitious secondary school based in Gravesend to start in September 2013. The Progression Mentor and Careers Guidance Co-Ordinator will deliver and develop our careers education and guidance programme working closely with the school's Leadership Team and other key stakeholders as well as mentoring and supporting students and families to help them overcome barriers to progress into Post 16 and Higher Education.

To deliver and develop our careers education and guidance (CEG) programme. The postholder will work closely with ELT members and other key stakeholders to develop the school's careers programme, organise resources, support work experience opportunities and secure high standards of teaching, learning and guidance.

Under the guidance of the Assistant Headteacher, you will be responsible for Progress & Attainment to target, mentoring and supporting students and families to help them overcome barriers to progress from pre to Post 16 learning and Post 16 to Higher Education.

The successful candidate will join the school at an exciting time as we move our curriculum forward.

Accountability/Skills:
- Educated to at least FE/HE level and subsequent work/professional experience

- An understanding of strategies for raising aspirations and achievement

- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise work, to work under pressure and to meet deadlines

- Excellent team player but able to take initiative and act independently where required
