As a Project Manager in Mediaplanet, you and your team are responsible for one project/publication from A to Z. You are required to do a minimum of seven projects annually; financing through advertising sales, but also development of the concept. You report to a Business Development Manager.
Selling the concept
As a Project Manager in Mediaplanet your prime task is to sell our concept and adverts. You conduct market/industry analysis and segmentation based on guidelines for every project. You receive operational and financial goals from your Business Development Manager. You identify and contact key people within the industry and produce an editorial synopsis based on research and input from the market.
Selling the paper
In order to reach Mediaplanet’s selling targets you have to manage and achieve your own individual targets. You have to ensure that your papers secure revenues and that each title meets its budgeted sales, to make sure that you are maximising the commercial potential of the project. To manage the project as successful as possible you have to have; personal meetings - high efficiency on the phone and initiative to respond to client’s needs.
All administrative work such as research, sending offers and confirmations , proof reading along with other responsibilities requires management throughout the workday.
Producing the publication
To manage all elements of the project in the maximum time period you have to organise your day and project in detail. Along with the sales revenue, the project management part includes ensuring that Journalists and Designers are correctly briefed, that your titles meet the required design and editorial quality and that all ads are at repro on time for print.
