Due to our long running success providing in house supply services for South London Boroughs such as Wandsworth, Lambeth, Lewisham and Bexley, we currently need more teachers to help us meet the increasing demands of schools in Richmond and surrounding West London Local Authorities, who have been recommended to us by their neighbouring boroughs.
The Schools:We are proud to support a diverse portfolio of both state and private schools within the Richmond area. One of these schools is currently looking for a Year2 teacher on a Part- Time Long Term basis starting in September. The school is a 4form community primary and has been rated "Outstanding" in its last two Ofsted Inspections. The schools in the Royal Borough of Richmond are some of the most sought after in the country, with expectations of pupils and teachers being high. This school has proven itself to exceed these expectations with it being in the Top 15% of the country for progress. The right teacher will have to be confident to work to these standards, working in partnership with another Year2 Teacher to ensure that the school's tradition of Year2 pupils achieving Level3 in their SATs is above the national average.
The Children: Richmond is well known to be a highly affluent area, with many schools having pupils from a wide variety of cultural and religious backgrounds attracted by the reputation of the borough. This can lead to a range of ability levels, as well as EAL needs, however the schools have a strong support network of specialist TAs and other resources to assist teachers. The majority of pupils have a natural want to learn, and often work above the national average for their age groups. Therefore schools in this area require teachers who are able to deliver lessons which challenge the pupils, and encourage them to think and work beyond their comfort zones in innovative and creative ways.
The Job: We are looking for teachers with QTS for a Long Term assignment who can:
- Confidently teach in Year2 as of September and begin the process of preparing pupils for their SATs.
- Commit to working on a part time basis for the academic year 2013-2014.
- Have relevant up to date experience in UK schools.
- Preferably have knowledge of SATs requirements.
- Ensure effective classroom management in line with schools' behaviour policies.
- Treat every assignment as if it is a permanent role, injecting a sense of purpose into the classroom ad helping the schools continue to have a positive impact on pupils' lives to the best of your ability.
- Provide references to cover the last 12months, as well as be willing to complete a CRB/DBS check alongside other safeguarding checks and requirements.
In reward for our teachers' hard work and commitment we provide competitive rates of pay with no hidden deductions, access to Randstad Education's online CPD portfolio, bespoke CPD courses ran by professionals (often free of charge), long term and permanent job opportunities locally as well as across the UK and internationally, a dedicated consultant with a 24/7 on call facility and a honest and trustworthy approach that matches you to the right school.
