My clients a leading Law firm based in the City of Londoncurrently seek a Graduate/Trainee Development Manager c.50k 12month FTC.
Working in this reputable and international Law firm you will play a pivotal role managing the Graduate Development team taking overall responsibility for managing a high volume of trainees across post grad studies, a two-year development programme and qualification.
In this busy and demanding role you will focus on building strong relationships with the trainee population providing coaching and mentorship. Effectively managing a team you will also work in collaboration with the business and wider HR stakeholders and as a unit you will provide am exceptional service in regards to all development related Trainee issues.
Key deliverables will include:
-Team management - including all appraisals, training and development
-Overseeing prospective and current trainee management - contact, career coaching and management of seat moves/allocation
-Manage the trainee development strategy ensuring alignment to the business agenda and reporting directly into the Global Head of L&D.
-Trainee Development Programme/ Training contact - support Partners and Managers and Trainees with appropriate guidance in regards to seat allocation, assist in training delivery, ensure all SRA guidelines are adhered to
-International seat move and global secondment management
-Analyse survey data around seat moves and secondments
-Play key role in trainee career development and appraisal
-Run trainee focus groups
-Support Trainee Recruitment Team with Campaigns and Interviewing
-Attend various Panels, Group wide meeting and Steering committees contributing as the senior leader and subject matter expert for all Trainee Development Issues
-HR responsibilities for trainee population - liaison with wider HR team and manage personal problems, absences, ER, Occupational Health issues etc.
This is a high profile role mixing an array of strategic and operational deliverables and the ideal candidate will be an experienced passionate and proactive self starter and will meet the following criteria:
-Proven Graduate/Trainee development expert experience
-Law firm/Partnership experience preferred - Financial Services/Large Commercial Corporate experience also considered
-Team management experience
-Strong HR Generalists/L&D professionals from the LEGAL SECTOR ONLY or Qualified Fee Earners also considered
