A mainstream secondary school in Bracknell currently recruiting for an English NQT to join their staff team in September 2013. The main duties will include teaching English classes throughout the whole school across Key Stage 3 & 4.
The successful applicant will to deliver pre planned and set work by the class teacher, supervise the class, answer pupil's questions, ensure that there is a positive learning environment for the students, take the register and to provide written feedback at the end of the class for the class teacher.The teacher will be expected to be organised, have good attendance and good behaviour management skills.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of working with the secondary age range. They will have excellent classroom management skills and this will need to be backed up by a recent reference.
Excellent communications are essential as is the ability to write accurate reports and manage your own changing timetable. Candidates should have a good understanding of the national curriculum and will ideally be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a core subject such as maths, English or Science. Strong ICT skills are also desirable.
As a minimum requirement we are looking for candidates with at least 3 months experience working with secondary aged pupils and experience of working with large groups.
A Degree, PGCE in FE, Overseas Qualified Teachers, part time PGCE students or TEFL qualified candidates would be suitable for this role. Youth workers or sports coaches are also very welcome to apply.
