Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching assistant jobs available working with a mainstream secondary academy.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching assistant jobs available September 2013 in a large Sheffield secondary academy.

Randstad Education is the UK's leading education recruiter; we have been helping teachers and support staff to find temporary and permanent education jobs for nearly twenty years.

This academy has an above average number of students supported by school action or school action plus. Teachers working with these students will plan, teach and review their progress based on individual education plans (IEP) which are set and monitored by the schools special needs coordinator (SENCO). To support an IEP some students are supported by a teaching assistant in order to continue to process. Randstad Education supports this academy with their recruitment of teaching assistants for this role. As every IEP is different, the requirements of each role will differ. Typically additional support can be provided where;

  • A student shows signs of difficulty in developing literacy and math's skills
  • Has sensory or physical problems
  • Has persistent emotional or/and behavioral difficulties
  • Has communication or/and interaction difficulties

These long temporary roles are full time will typically run for the full academic year, with permanent opportunities available in some cases.
