The Organisation:

The Green Recruitment Company is delighted to represent a leading development and infrastructure consultancy in their search for an Asset Champion – Signs, Markings & Studs. This is a UK wide consultancy with multiple offices in the EU offering services in Energy, Environment, Geotechnics, Sustainability, Planning & Development, Transport, Waste Management and Water Management. They are looking for an Asset Champion to join their growing team in Kent.

The Role:

Through ownership of the signs/markings/studs (and street furniture) asset group, being fully knowledgeable about its condition, performance (including trends) and associated risks, and working closely with the Asset Manager and Programme Development Managers, the Asset Champion will identify certain measures/schemes that need to be developed and delivered to secure the safe use of the network.

Particular tasks include:

• Develop and maintain the Asset Strategy for the asset group.
• Undertake the associated ‘watchman’ role of asset trends and risks alongside identifying asset-specific survey/study requirements based on identified risks.
• Develop and maintain an Asset Inventory Specification (meeting the requirements of the HA’s ADMM as appropriate).
• Analyse asset data: inspection, defect and asset condition, client observations, Watchman, Network Stewards, 3rd parties, customer enquiries, and external data.
• Manage GiS data upload for the specific asset group as per set regime. .
• Monitor asset performance metrics with the Asset Manager to support the PMF.

Person Specification:

The Asset Champion will have;
• Degree Qualified or equivalent
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent qualification. Alternatively, extensive relevant industry experience will be considered.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience signs/markings/studs asset management, including asset strategies and applying PAS 55 principles.
• Risk management with particular regard to safety, environment, sustainability, service, running costs and whole life cost.
• Assist with budget management and making business-led decisions in the management of the asset.
• Supporting delivery in a customer-focused service contract that demonstrates improving customer satisfaction.
• Working under a quality management system, learning from the audit regime.
• A demonstrable capability to lead asset management in a challenging environment.
• Mentoring and coaching in specialist and technical knowledge
• Knowledge of HA business planning and systems, including involvement in the value management bidding process securing funding for studies and schemes.
• Working within a matrix management structure.
