We have an exclusive opportunity for a Year 1 teacher. Based in central Grimsby, this role can become permanent for the right person. However, if you are purely interested in staying on a supply basis, covering this post while recruitment is established permanently is also an option.
This role is now available due to restructuring internally. Having undergone some recent changes in leadership and structure, this is an exciting time to join this progressive local school. It is essential that you are not only engaging and nurturing, but that you have strong behaviour management skills.
This class has really progressed through EYFS and following the great work that has been started there, it is essential that this is continued.
This school has gone through a noticeable transformation since the change in senior leadership. The Head is exceptionally passionate about continuous development of their staff and as a member of the team, you can expect that this will be a big focus for you.
Raising standards and in particularly attainment is the key aim at present and they do work collaboratively with other schools to ensure that they use best practice in all areas.
They also have a lot of resources for Key Stage 1 so you can expect a great teaching environment with support and the ability to provide great teaching to your children.
You will also have 2 teaching assistants to support in the class which will enable you to provide the best level of teaching for all abilities.
The school has gone through a deep diagnostic process to understand the SEN requirement, which currently sits at around 25%. They also have a fairly high percentage of free school meals due to the nature of the location. However, in terms of behaviour of the children, this is very good.
The school has a very calm feel to it and this is reflected in the classrooms, which demonstrate great control and behaviour from the pupils.
