Interim Assistant Headteacher - Teaching and Learning

This school based in Redbridge, Essex is much larger than the average primary school and supports a large number of pupils with the pupil premium. The number of pupils that speak English as an additional language is also much higher than the national average. The behaviour in the School is good and there is a solid leadership team that has the effective support of the Governing body.
The primary role is to enhance Learning and Teaching across the school, so much of the time will be spent working very closely with other staff. It is therefore essential that the appointee has outstanding teaching ability, knowledge of children's learning and is able to challenge, motivate and inspire staff.
The School has recently been refurbished and it is a great learning environment for the children. The School boasts spacious classrooms, state of the art ICT facilities and large outside areas that can be used all year round.
The school was judged as requiring improvement in its last Ofsted inspection and they are now looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Headteacher to help drive standards forward.
*Help raise pupils' achievement in all subjects, especially English and Maths.
*Work alongside the Headteacher to provide inspirational and motivational leadership across the school.
*Work with Key Stage managers, subject coordinators and teachers to co-plan, co-lead and model lessons to further raise standards.
*Lead the drive to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
*Develop and implement effective monitoring, intervention and performance management strategies.
*Support, mentor and develop staff in the use of assessment for learning to further improve their effectiveness.
