Level 3 experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support an EBD child in Key Stage 2 in Salford.

This job is to provide 1:1 support for an autistic child in Key Stage 2 until Christmas 2013 and may continue longer depending on authority funding.

 

This smaller than average school stands near the centre of Eccles and is surrounded by busy major roads and transport links. More than twice the national average of pupils is entitled to free school meals. About one in four pupils, which is twice the national average, speak English in addition to their home language. Of these pupils, about 10 are in the early stages of learning English. Fewer than the average proportion of pupils have learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Since the previous inspection, there have been a significant number of staffing changes including a new headteacher and deputy headteacher in the past year. The school has achieved the Healthy Schools award and the ActiveMark.

This job is for a Level 3 qualified teaching assistant who has experience of supporting young children with n behaviour issues. Team Teach training is desirable however not essential as training will be provided. This is a supportive team that is dedicated to providing the best care for their children whilst assisting them with the transition into mainstream. The children work towards the National Curriculum levels and the structure of the days is similar to most classes with all core and foundation subjects taught in conjunction with social and communication skills.
