Further information

We are currently looking for an experienced school administrator to work on a long term basis at an "Outstanding" 2form entry school in Southwark.

The role will involve working with the front of house administration team to ensure the smooth running the school including working on all admin systems, processing invoices, following and implanting onsite HR policies and supporting the Headteacher.

Experience with the Wauton Samuel system would be ideal; however candidates with SIMs experience will find the transition to this system a quick and easy transfer of skills.

This is a full time role with the view of a permanent contract for the right candidate and is due to start in October.

You must be SIMs trained or have experience in a school or children's centre office environment. Money handling and data management skills will also be advantageous.

Randstad Education is the UK Market Leader and our specialist team have been helping teachers and support staff to find temporary and permanent education jobs for nearly 20years.

We have an unrivalled reputation within Primary schools in the London Boroughs, and work with over 2,500 schools each week to find the right match for your skills.

We take great pride in the extremely high service levels that we provide to both our schools and our candidates. Our service is honest and efficient and, in addition to our recruitment solution, we offer the opportunity for additional training and development for our candidates. You will also receive personalised career support from the team.

Due to our long running success as the official School Supply service for both Lambeth and Lewisham Borough Councils, we currently need more teachers to help us meet the increasing demands of schools in Southwark who have been recommended to us by their neighbouring boroughs.

The School

The school is a two form entry school, graded as "Outstanding" by its latest Ofsted report. It is situated in a state of art building in the heart of Southwark. They promote an inclusive and tolerant setting to their staff, pupils and parents. The school is a busy environment so the right candidate must have excellent organisation skills to be able to fulfil the varying needs of the role. Also due to the school's open communication ethos with parents, the role will be very people facing so the ideal candidate will have excellent face to face and telephone communication skills, as well as letter and email writing abilities.

The Children

Southwark is a highly diverse area, with many centres catering for children from a wide variety of cultural and religious backgrounds. The school's aim is to encourage all children to achieve their personal best in all areas of school life and expect their staff to do the same. The right candidate will become part of the school family, interacting with pupils as well as teachers and parents, helping to combat pupil issues such as attendance through report running and monitoring, and being aware of safeguarding issues and procedures as and when they arise.

The Job

We are looking for an experienced Administrator who:

  • Has experience working on the Wauton Samuel or SIMs system.
  • Has experience working in an educational or similar environment.
  • Remains calm in pressurised environments.
  • Communicates well with colleagues, parents and children.
  • Has experience processing invoices, HR policies on site and assisting the Headteacher.
  • Treats every assignment as if it is a permanent role, injecting a sense of purpose into the classroom ad helping the schools continue to have a positive impact on pupils' lives to the best of your ability.
  • Can provide references to cover the last 12months, as well as be willing to complete a CRB/DBS check alongside other safeguarding checks and requirements.

In reward for our teachers' hard work and commitment we provide competitive rates of pay with no hidden deductions, access to Randstad Education's online CPD portfolio, bespoke CPD courses ran by professionals (often free of charge), long term and permanent job opportunities locally as well as across the UK and internationally, a dedicated consultant with a 24/7 on call facility and a honest and trustworthy approach that matches you to the right school.
