Music Teacher needed for maternity cover staring in November 2013

The Job

This Teaching post starts in November 2013 to cover maternity leave. Applicants must have a good knowledge of music at all levels and a real enthusiasm for teaching is needed for this post. Applicants must be willing to commit to the school's ethos of teaching and learning and be willing to contribute to extra‐curricular activities. With a committed approach to community schooling the successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic with a desire to participate. The music team work in a well‐equipped department, teaching courses to GCSE and A level in music and music technology. The ability to teach Music Technology would be an advantage. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a commitment to improving student outcomes across the age and ability range and be highly motivated and committed to the very highest standards.

The School

The Music Department is part of the Performing Arts Faculty including Art, Drama and Dance and has been awarded Arts College Status and Gold 'Artsmark' award in 2003. The school actively encourages participation & progress in studying Music & the Music Department is well-equipped & has an excellent team of Teachers & Support Staff.

The Child

You will encounter a diverse mix of pupils in this school. Good behaviour management skills, a passion for teaching and a dynamic and flexible approach will be advantageous.
