My client are a leading organisation within their industry and currently have the fantastic opportunity for an Application Support Manager (1 year FTC) to head-up their existing team.

As part of the Business Solutions Team the successful Application Support Manager (1 year FTC) will be focused on the management of the Application Support Team. This is a hands on management role for a Application Support Manager (1 year FTC) that will at times require you to liaise with both technical (Architects, Designers and Developers) and non technical (Business). You will also act as the primary contact for all application support issues assigned to the team.

Key Skills
- The Application Support Manager (1 year FTC) will have at least 3 years Line Management experience ideally gained within a project matrix management environment. Experience managing multi site or virtual team members would be a distinct advantage
- At least 5 years experience as a application developer with a broad knowledge in web technologies, Java & J2EE,Spring, Weblogic, Struts, Ant, Maven, JSP & Javascript, CSS, Servlets, Apache, C++ and Corba
- Understanding of HTML, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, Javascript, XML and XSLT.
- Ability to use source control systems such as Subversion or CVS.
- Relational database design and development (ideally using Oracle) with a good understanding of SQL.
- Experience of using and integrating with a CMS (ideally Fatwire & Broadvision).
- Sound knowledge and experience of designing & building multi-tiered and multi-threaded distributed applications
- Strong customer focus, displaying an understanding of what excellent internal and external customer service entails.
- Adept at reporting and producing documents to a high standard
- Basic UNIX skills (ideally under Solaris).
- Strong background in an agile methodology.
