Level 2/3 Learning support assistants needed for Haringey primary school
to start in October 2013

The school is part of a well respected federation of schools in Haringey, the federation really focuses its attention on helping children to realise their potential. Staff enrichment and training is a part of the culture here and a lot is invested into improving best practice within the federation, there is cross school training and staff are encouraged to learn from each other.
This Ofsted good graded school are focused on raising attainment and are looking for hardworking teaching assistants who will work towards the same goal. The school is very active and there is always something going on, the atmosphere is very vibrant and so would suit somebody who is looking to become part of the school community.
The position is to start in October and will be for one term initially with the opportunity for a long-term position for a successful candidate. The position is for 5 days a week and will be during normal school hours, you will also be expected to attend team meetings when necessary and also assist in planning and preparing lessons for the next day with the class teachers.
The school are looking for an experienced candidate who is confident in the classroom at managing difficult behaviours and who will adhere to their behavioural management policy. You would be working both 1:1 with the pupils who need additional support or who have special educational needs within the classroom setting and also outside the classroom.
Successful candidates must:
- Have a level 2/3 NVQ or degree
- Have previous experience of working in a mainstream primary school in the UK
- Be willing to work beyond a term if needed
- Be confident in working with children with varying abilities
- Have experience of working with children with special educational needs
