The Client

Our client is a leading retail company with stores across the UK. A household name with a huge energy spend, our client is looking for an exceptional energy candidate to help them reduce their UK wide energy spend

The role

The Energy Engineer will be responsible in controlling all aspects of on-site energy usage and expenditure within our client’s properties throughout the UK.

Objectives

* Maintain an awareness of industry developments relating to energy conservation within our client’s environment

* Develop, coordinate and implement energy reduction measures on site in stores

* Liaise and negotiate with contractors , service providers, suppliers and other relevant organisations

* Ensure accurate records are maintained, energy consumption data is collected, analysed and reported

* Carry out site inspections and energy surveys

* Implement corrective actions identified from data analysis and site surveys to reduce energy consumption

* Prepare detailed schedules of work, feasibility studies and payback calculations

* Communication – you will build key contacts and relationships internally with our client’s Energy, Maintenance and Projects departments as well as externally with utility Suppliers 3rd Party Service Providers and Building Contractors

Key Accountabilities

• The effective management of energy to meet predefined targets

• To implement new energy related opportunities

• To optimise energy usage across the estate and reduce all areas of waste

• Ability to analyse raw data to show trends and highlight exceptions.

• Engineering knowledge of key energy drivers within the business.

• Experience in the preparation of technical documents.

• Able to demonstrate good practical aptitude.

• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Candidate requirements

The Energy Engineer will possess the following;

* Educated to HNC level or above in engineering, scientific or mathematical discipline.

* Experience in the design and build of detailed spreadsheets, and with manipulating large quantities of data.

* Some practical engineering experience preferred.

* Good communication skills – able to adapt to any audience level

* Effective organisation and planning skills

* Logical thinker / problem solving

* Self-driver with willingness to learn and enthusiasm to be involved
