Maths Teacher with PMLD/SEN experience required in Lambeth - Starting December 2013
The Lambeth School Supply Service (Randstad Education) is currently recruiting on behalf of a progressive Secondary Special School in Lambeth.
We require committed and enthusiastic Secondary Maths Teachers with strong subject knowledge and PMLD/SEN experience for long-term positions, 5 days per week starting December 2013.
Due to internal initiatives a unique opportunity has arisen for a qualified teacher of Maths with PMLD/SEN to join a successful and friendly team.
You will be responsible for teaching Lower Level 4 students from a diverse background with various statements.
The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:
? Have Qualified Teachers Status
? Recent experience of teaching Maths to Lower Level 4 pupils with PMLD/SEN within a SEN setting is essential
? Makaton and PECs trained
? Strong behaviour management skills
? Ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons
? Only applications from Qualified Teachers will be accepted
The school is well led and managed. It specialises in supporting learners who have speech and language difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder and moderate or severe learning difficulties. They apply a holistic approach to learning, and work closely with speech therapists, the school doctor and nurse, as well as outside agencies to enable all children and young people with special educational needs to access the curriculum.
Pupils make good progress and achieve well across a wide range of subjects. Their behaviour is outstanding. They enjoy school and support each other very well. The ideal candidate would have experience of teaching SEN students in a mainstream environment and a passion for supporting and encouraging students through a whole child approach.
