The job

A qualified and experienced teacher of Geography is required for a term to cover a Maternity leave from January 2014 working 5 days a week. The school are ideally seeking an experienced Geography trained specialist but will consider applications from Humanities teachers if they have a year's recent experience of teaching GCSE Geography in a secondary school.

A study of Geography provides students with broad knowledge of the physical, human and environmental Geographical features are explored.

Project Work that includes investigation and experimentation will enable students to investigate their geographical skills for particular uses. Students will document and communicate their project ideas and experiences and make use of contemporary technology in their project work. Completion of projects is integral to developing skills and confidence in the manipulation and use of a range of geographical materials, equipment and techniques. Geography projects will give students the opportunity to be creative, independent learners and to explore functional and physical aspects of geography, demonstrate responsibility in decision-making and encourage individuals to express ideas and opinions.
