Head of Contracts and Commercialisation

Morgan Hunt's NHS client is looking to recruit an interim Head of Contracts and Commercialisation, for an initial 3-6 month period. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Contracts & Commercialisation team and to ensure the function is properly resourced with highly trained and motivated personnel who constantly deliver an excellent service. Also responsible for being the conduit between the team and the various organisational senior leadership teams, and be an ambassador for robust commercial practice.

Key responsibilities of the Head of Contracts and Commercialisation:

*To provide professional leadership of an appropriately resourced function and to support the training and development of all staff to achieve their full potential and deliver excellent results.
*To build and maintain links with internal (EMT, Board, Directors, Heads of Service, Service Managers) and external (contractors, partners, Commissioning bodies, government departments, consultants) stakeholders ensuring productive and positive working relationships.
*To ensure that any contractual arrangements within the organisation are meeting standard specifications, maximising the benefit and minimising the risk for the organisation.
*To be accountable for the provision of commercial support and key information to the organisation at large by the team.
*To be accountable for the identification of any new opportunities and ensuring they are being appropriately exploited, and that any bids are consistently managed through the process and are accurate, clear and of a high quality.
*To be accountable for the maintenance of a detailed understanding of overall market opportunities and how developments may lead to potential new business.
*To drive overall business development and support the strategic growth targets set by the management team.

Key experience of the successful candidate:

*Experience of a Senior Contracting role within an acute NHS environment.
*Ability to understand budgets, and budgetary processes with excellent accounting skills.
*High-level business skills related to the production, implementation and management of business cases, tender responses and the management of Service Level agreements/Contracts.
*Practical knowledge of NHS contracting frameworks, including Community Services Contracts, EU procurement rules and national policy relating to tendering for Healthcare services.
*Ability to manage complex stakeholder groups (including clinical stakeholders), balancing multiple and sometimes competing priorities.
*Evidence of an understanding of contemporary health policy and translation into business development.
