£25,000 - £35,000 + Benefits + Bonus

Industry leader in Financial Risk Reporting Products seeking a Junior Java Developer (Consultant, J2SE) to join the consultancy arm of the high performance analytical technology that has improved risk management information functions for investment banks, buy-side financial firms and within partner software houses.

As the Junior Java Developer (Consultant, J2SE) you will onboard with the technical product practice, understand low level Java coding that is essential for allowing vast amounts of trade data analytics and gather client requirements to allow the client specific algorythmic instructions.

The role is to visit various client sites within the London Financial districts to understand the business, the use of the products and how to improve the system by cutting code on client site. You will build up your understanding of the financial markets, work closely with clients on a technical level and improve your java problem solving skills.

Key requirements for the Junior Java Developer (Consultant, J2SE);

  • Essential in:
    • Experience working in the area of product and application development using Java
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Desirable in:
    • Familiarity with open source technologies is desirable: e.g. Apache, Hibernate, Spring, Eclipse, Maven and jUnit.
    • Knowledge of C# and .NET development environment
    • Knowledge of financial instruments and mathematics a plus
    • Experience of OLAP and MDX a plus
  • Education:
    • Degree level in Computer Science or similar discipline
