The Company
The Green Recruitment Company is representing a leading renewable energy provider in the UK who are expanding marketing their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the communications department. The Head of Communications promotes the company brand and its reputation internally and externally.

The Role
Setting the communications strategy for the company, ensuring that this is consistent across the business.
Leading the Communications team (including recruitment, retention and development)
Overseeing the communications grid, communications planning and proactive projects.
Overseeing the running of the press office. Delivering best in class media relations, and building an excellent database of credible journalists across UK of both traditional and social media
Delivery of media and social media monitoring
Briefing senior management
Developing a strategy for external engagement and delivering.
Responsibility for financial PR, quarterly calendar and the requirements
Developing key spokespeople (including CEO level) within the business and delivering best in class briefing documents, media training and media/senior stakeholder engagement guidance
Developing campaigns to promote the company brand by working closely with the Head of Marketing and marketing assets
Management of PR agencies

The Candidate
Calm, professional and driven to deliver excellent results
Responsible and accountable
A great people manager; eager to lead and develop a team to deliver results
Excellent judgment on media and public affairs
Excellent problems solving skills
Organised and methodical; able to introduce and establish processes and best practice.
Considerable senior experience across the public relations industry; journalist or communications background
Good journalist/public affairs contacts and understanding
Exceptional written and verbal skills
Good experience of team management and development
Degree or MBA qualified would be beneficial, as would sector experience
