We are looking for a managing Procurement Manager / Supply Chain Manager / QS Manager / Commercial Manager to join a contractor specialising in Data Centres on a permanent basis. This organisation offers a fully integrated end-to-end solution and commit to work with customers throughout the lifecycle of their facilities. They are seeking a commercially astute M&E QS who wants to join an established but growing business and be part of a team striving to deliver excellence and innovation in the data centre industry.
Established over 25 years ago this contractor provided technical expertise in the design, build and management of data centres, server rooms and comms rooms across the UK working with multi-national organisations through to SME's. Growing 300% in the past 2 years, in-house expertise has enabled them to provide clients a with "one stop shop" for all aspects of data centre design and management. Historically working with a host of Main Contractors their client bases has evolved over the last few years and currently they are undertaking a high portion of work direct with end clients to include Universities, Hospitals, Banks, Insurance Providers and Retailers.
The successful applicant will have both commercial and procurement experience. As well as Quantity Surveying, the successful Commercial Manager / Managing M&E Quantity Surveyor will be able to identify good deals with suppliers, and will have good negotiating skills to ensure that commercial opportunities can be explored effectively.
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
*Building a competitive infrastructure with key suppliers, matching supply with demand and measuring performance.
*Developing, implementing and negotiating partnership, framework and subcontract agreements to ensure maximum commercial benefit and performance.
*Managing on-going relationships with Supply Chain, implementing benefit and reward schemes where relevant resulting rebate claims and reporting.
*Setting up and management of subcontractor and supplier classification to secure incentives and benefits (e.g. resist holding retentions, identifying approved suppliers at design stage).
*Managing commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts from procurement to final account agreement.
*Selection, evaluation and approval of new Suppliers and Subcontractors to include competency, HSE Management arrangements and performance.
*Producing and maintaining list of approved suppliers by category and ensuring these are available, communicated and utilised by all stakeholders, office and site based.
*Proactive assessment and measurement of supplier and subcontractor performance reporting to internal stakeholders
*Overall management, review and continuous improvement of processes, reporting and team outputs.
MANAGEMENT OF QUANTITY SURVEYOR TEAM
*Responsibility for managing a team of senior and junior quantity surveyors.
*Review and improvement of all post contract commercial and procurement systems and procedures.
*Pro-active work with pre-sales to help provide commercial advice to help secure tender success.
*Responsibility for risk management, commencing with review and briefing out of key aspects of the Contract to the Project team.
*Work with Quantity Surveyors to plan, forecast and subsequently report project commercial performance.
*Consolidation of individual contract reports into monthly management accounts, working with finance department.
*Forecast and management of consolidated cash flow following review and agreement of QS project forecast.
*Review and agreement of final key subcontractor and client accounts.
Provide the necessary expertise to support dispute resolution with clients and sub-contractors.
