A global and very successful software provider that specialises in developing cutting-edge futures, options and equities trading systems currently seeks a Technical Application Support Specialist-(Support, Networks, London) to join their rapidly growing team. The position has come about due to further financial success with new products and customers.

The successful a Technical Application Support Specialist-(Support, Networks, London) will sit between the Application Support team and the Network Engineering team to be the person who will merge the two teams together, ensuring a smoother process within the office. You will work to provide technical application support for the organisation's products directly to their customer base. You will also work closely with the organisation's sales and engineering teams, becoming a part of a hardworking and dedicated Support Team with a very entrepreneurial spirit.

Specific duties of the Technical Application Support Specialist-(Support, Networks, London) will include:

  • Supporting customers and resolving issues related to software operation and exchange connectivity
  • Working directly with customers to coordinate deployment and configuration of the company's products
  • Conducting comprehensive analysis of complex system flows
  • Identifying solutions to open issues / problems that are under investigation or pending resolution
  • Maintaining internal technical documentation and improve support procedures
  • Managing distribution and installation of software enhancements
  • Documenting and tracking case histories, issues and actionable steps taken
  • In order to be considered for the role of the Technical Application Support Specialist-(Support, Networks, London), the following is important:

  • Previous experience of deployment and troubleshooting electronic trading systems
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of Linux & Windows operating systems
  • Experience with scripting in bash, perl or python
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and multicast networking
  • Technical experience with one or more of the following exchanges - Liffe, Eurex, Euronext, CME & ICE.
  • Knowledge of Tibco Rendezvous and Oracle would be advantageous
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and via email with a variety of people including IT specialists , team members and traders
  • Must be able to manage and prioritise workload
