The Organisation:


The Green Recruitment Company is recruiting on behalf of a multidisciplinary consultancy in their search for a Principal Social Consultant. The Principal Social Consultant will be based in their office in South Wales and will be involved in both national and international projects. The Principal Social Consultant will work on a wide array of projects in a multidisciplinary capacity.


The Role:

The Principal Social Consultant will be responsible for leading the social division of the South Wales office. The Principal Social Consultant will undertake specialist activities including;


• Stakeholder engagement
• Socio-economic impact assessment
• Corporate social responsibility due diligence and development
• Social liabilities evaluation
• Preparing socio-economic management plans
• Mentoring consultant and senior level staff as required
• Liaising with clients and other consultants
• Business development

The role will be a balance of technical delivery, team management, project management and business development. The projects will be involved in sectors including oil & gas, mining and other heavy industries.

The Principal Social Consultant will act as project manager on social specialist environmental studies. Through this the Principal Social Consultant will provide expert social services to ensure successful delivery of projects.



Person Specification:


The Principal Social Consultant will need to have;

• Degree/ equivalent in a social (preference) discipline with a higher degree in a social discipline (preferred)
• Experience gained internationally
• Experience of undertaking large SIAs and contributing to project development studies
• Knowledge of the Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards
• Proven track record of bringing projects in on time and to budget
• Proven leadership and team building experience
• Business development skills
