We are currently looking for a Director of Technical Consulting to join our client, a leading Energy Trading and Risk Management software vendor based in the heart of London. My client builds and delivers a fully integrated front to back office trading software system used for both physical and financial trading. Their product has won many awards for its ease of use and powerful capabilities in trade capture and risk management. The role will report to VP of Professional Services EMEA Energy.

As the Director of Technical Consulting, EMEA Energy you will:

  • Own technical solution for Aligne across EMEA region
  • Provide SME technical guidance and advice to clients
  • Manage technical consulting team
  • Create best practice approaches for software installation, hardware sizing, n-tier architecture design and interface guidelines
  • Provide escalation point for all technical consulting issues for team and client

Position Requirements for the Director of Technical Consulting, EMEA Energy:

  • Significant experience of Energy Trading market (essential)
  • Experience of building and running a technical consulting team (essential)
  • Experience working for technology firm providing complex software solutions (essential)
  • Experience presenting to CxO level (essential)
  • Experience in supporting sales engagements from the technical consulting side (essential)
  • Experience in developing technical best practice methodology (essential)
  • Experience in mentoring and managing less experienced staff (essential)

General Requirements:

  • Travel up to 60%
  • Java including Spring
  • Experience with JMS, SOAP and Web Services
  • Experience with Application Servers (Weblogic, JBoss)
  • Proficient in Oracle and PL/SQL
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008 and RedHat Linux
  • Knowledge of XML and XSL Transformation
  • Knowledge of Javascript and Excel Macro Building
  • Degree in Business, Computer Science or related field
  • Work analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
