Randstad Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Warrington for a Maths Teacher. The Maths department at this school have continued their proud record in student progress and as a result are looking for an ambitious Maths Specialist to cover a maternity position to start in January 2014. The department is very well resourced, with eight teaching rooms, all of which are equipped with interactive whiteboards and are housed in a purpose built suited accommodation.

The School

This secondary school has an excellent reputation across Warrington for being hardworking, cohesive and committed to improving the quality of learning and teaching. The school opened their new Sixth Form College in September 2010, where, at present, there is one class in year 12 and one class in year 13 each following the MEI AS/A2 syllabus Mathematics specification.

The Job

  • This position will be to teach Key Stage 3 - 5 in mixed ability groups. The department follows the Edexcel Linear GCSE syllabus and extensive work has been done on updating schemes of learning to fit the new course requirements.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible to the Head of Department and be expected to take on extra responsibility (sometimes jointly) for own teaching area maintaining high standards of tidiness and high quality displays of learner and student work.

The Child

The maths department provides an extensive extra curricular programme for KS3 - KS5 and has recently extended this to include KS2 learners from local primary schools. The school are very proud of their maths department and the learners are taught in ability groups in Key Stage 3 and 4 and in mixed ability groups at Key Stage 5. All learners are currently entered.
