URGENT - Head teacher needed! Interviews available now for a permanent appointment starting in January 2014!

Have you got Senior Leadership experience? Are you a dynamic, inspirational and out-going individual who is able to take a holistic approach to education provision?

My client is an independent day special school in South Manchester. The school caters to the learning needs of 15 boys and girls aged between 11 and 16 who have emotional and behavioural difficulties. The school specialises in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment within which young people are encouraged to succeed. This was recognised by an Ofsted inspection in 2012 which stated that:

"The school provides a good quality of education based on an outstanding curriculum which meets its aims and enables every student to make good progress and to find an area of success."

The school's long term aim is to nurture confident individuals and responsible citizens, who can lead safe and happy lives and who will make a positive contribution to society.

The school is part of a care group that has been established since 1995, celebrating 18 years of positive outcomes for young people with challenging and complex needs. The group provides residential care and education across four sites. The head teacher of this school would work closely with the group's Director. The group wish to appoint a head teacher who will ensure a high quality provision for its young people and be part of taking the school into the future.

The School can offer:

An established school judged as, 'Good with Outstanding features' by Ofsted 2012. An experienced and committed staff team. A small, supportive working environment. The exciting challenge of taking the school into its next phase. The on-going support of the group and its Director.

In return the group is looking for someone who:

Can offer leadership experience in the secondary special education sector. Has the ability to ensure a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum for our young people. Is able to rigorously ensure the monitoring and impact of that curriculum on our young people's learning. Has the skills to teach and lead in a subject area. (To be decided.) Has excellent managerial and administrative skills. Has excellent interpersonal skills in order to liaise with multiple agencies and the director of the director of the group. Has experience of supporting with budgets, funding applications and getting different stakeholders on board.

If you think this is you please call Graham Warner at Randstad Education on the number provided.
