How you can expect to spend your day during your internship:
You will learn from our client’s the team in two main capacities as described below.
Under the supervision of the Corporate Events Manager responsibilities will include:
•Learn from the management of all aspects of an event from the initial booking; how to work with a client to design the event; arrange staff rotas; work with the kitchen on food for each event; ensure events run smoothly; invoice clients and ensure funds are cleared prior to event.
•Welcoming all clients for each event and then once settled handing over to the Duty Manager who will manage the client until the end of the event.
•You will also assist in physical management of the Exclusive Suite. The venue is only open when there is a function, and it will be your responsibility, together with the Venue and Duty Manager, to ensure the venue is properly managed (i.e. clean and set up correctly).
•Under supervision look to develop new business leads, as well as managing previously existing clients.
There is a busy calendar of music events, run both internally and in partnership with external promoters. You will assist in the development and promotion of a compelling events program. This will incorporate all elements of event planning, scheduling and promotion.
Under the supervision of the Music Events Manager you will learn about the following:
•The creation of monthly event schedules to drive attendance and increase revenue
•The organisation and management of all promotional activities. Using online marketing, contacts and promotions teams to increase the awareness and drive event attendance
•Management of event delivery, working with the venue team to ensure a seamless and exciting event delivery
•Management of external promoters to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of external events
Key candidate requirements for the internship role:
Previous events experience is preferable and a detailed knowledge of the London music scene would also be advantageous. Above all the candidate must be a fast learner and determined to help drive both the corporate and music events program forward into the New Year.
•Entry level experience in either event management or promotions preferable!
•A solid working knowledge of the London music market.
•Excellent planning and organisational skills.
•A desire to develop strong management skills.
•Strong interpersonal and social skills.
•Basic budgeting skills.
•A positive work attitude..
•Must be computer literate including excel and word processing.
•Must have a high level of customer service skills.
•Excellent attention to detail required.
