Basic salary up to £30,000

Harrington Starr are currently working with a UK leader that specialise within financial services technology and are currently looking for an IT Support Technician to join their growing team ASAP. The successful IT Support Technician will be the first point of contact for the Technical Operations Service desk and will provide 1st and 2nd line support to fellow employees and guests.

This is a remarkable opportunity for a graduate or second jobber to come in and support the office and hosting infrastructure as well as work with leading professional within the market space. You will be joining a company that is highly reputable and that stands to improve your knowledge and skills. The basic salary is up to £28,000 for the right candidate plus exceptional training.

The role of the IT Support Technician-(Support, HP/Dell, Microsoft, 1st line, 2nd line, Active Directory, VMware, PowerShell, Financial Services, London) will include:

- Being the first point of contact for all Service Desk support

- Escalating requests that are approaching deadline

- Owning and troubleshooting technical issues

- Software installations

- Active Directory user management

- Machine builds and deployment of standard images for laptops and PCs

In order to be eligible for the role of the IT Support Technician, the following is essential:

- Degree level education, preferably Computer Science or a related discipline

- Technical certifications such as MCITP or CompTIA

- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 or Windows 7 (or later), VMWare, CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation

- Desktop Support experience, mobile device management, HP/Dell desktop and laptop maintenance

- Impeccable communication skills
