A local community housing organisation is looking to recruit an Income Officer to work within their well established team based in Worcestershire on a fixed term basis for a 6 month period.

The role

The role involves managing and minimising arrears and all housing related debt. Also, advising residents on paying rent arrears, welfare benefits and debt management


* Maximising the Associations rent income, whilst following policies and procedures

* Keeping accurate and detailed records of action taken and that all targets are monitored

* Attending court and evictions on behalf of the association

* Offering debt counselling advice to residents in debt, and liaising with the Welfare Benefits Advisor and external agencies as appropriate

* Reporting to managers effectively on performance and any serious cases of arrears

* Work outside standard office hours to maximise opportunity to contact residents

* Ensuring residents are aware of their rights and responsibilities

* Holding consultations with tenants on changes to housing management policies and procedures

* Promote and collect resident feedback on services that have been provided


The successful candidate for the role of Income Officer will have:

* Experience working within social housing specialising in income collection

* Current full clean driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes

* Have the capacity to be able to meet challenging financial targets

* Be flexible, reliable and work well under pressure within a team environment

* Have experience of offering a customer focused, non-judgemental and keen to deliver high standards
