The Organisation:

The Green Recruitment Company is representing a multidisciplinary consultancy in their search for an ecologist to be based in their Southampton office. The organisation operates on an international level and the ecologist will be based within the growing environmental division. Working within a multidisciplinary team the ecologist will work on a range of project scales on a national level, with a focus in the South.


The Role:

The ecologist will be working in a consultancy environment; working on a range of projects providing technical advice to a range of stakeholders. The role will include field surveying, report writing and client liaison. Strong experience of working on a range of ecology projects is essential. Field skills working with a range of European Protected Species is essential.


Person Specification:

The Ecologist will need to be;


• Degree educated in a relevant subject (BSc./MSc./PhD or equivalent)
• Ideally, a member of CIEEM (GradCIEEM minimum)
• Report writing skills including knowledge/experience of completing EIA/EcIA chapters
• Project management skills
• Strong field experience
• A working knowledge of relevant UK and EU legislation and policy
• Knowledge of UK fauna and flora
• Ideally, a Natural England (or similar) protected species licence holder (Bat or GCN preferred but not essential)
• Full UK driving licence
