The School
This large catholic school in Wigan was judged as Outstanding in its Ofsted in 2009. It has worked to maintain this standard through excellence in teaching and learning and offers education to support students ambitions to attend university through it's successful sixth form. Due to the location of this school a car is essential.

The Child
Students attend from rural Wigan and are typically white middle class affluent students with very few students with free school meals or English as an additional language. Only a very small proportion of students have SEN statements . Pupils are keen to learn and demonstrate good behaviour throughout. The school

The Job
We are currently looking to recruit a specialist Food Technology Teacher to cover the head of department for a sickness cover. Previous experience teaching Food Technology at both KS3 & KS4 is essential for this position . Experience of teaching A level Food Technology would be beneficial. Covering an absent colleague the booking is all day Monday and Wednesday until February half term initially.

All applicants must have completed a PGCE Secondary qualification or Bachelor of Education providing Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Applications from FE qualified instructors or teachers with QTLS, unqualified teachers or overseas qualified teachers not familiar with the GCSE curriculum will not be considered.

NQTs will be supported in their induction.
Salary range: £190-£280 per week (pre 12 week agency worker regulations, dependent on references and experience)
