SEN Teacher required

We are currently recruiting for specialist SEN Teachers
This role will entail planning and delivery of lessons and activities in line with IEPs for a class of 6-8 children many of whom are working at National Curriculum levels well below chronological average. You should have previous experience of SEN teaching, be familiar with the Early Years and Primary teaching models and able to deliver age appropriate activities. Excellent communication and organisational ability is essential to lead support staff and co-ordinate input from other agencies. Knowledge of PECS and Makaton is desirable.
A specialist SEN School in Leeds which caters for children aged 2-19 with a wide range of learning and physical difficulties, some of whom have associated challenging behaviours.
All children at this school have a statement of special educational needs and as such the school has small class sizes to ensure optimum pupil to staff ratio in order support the pupils with their varying needs.
Requirements for candidates will include:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Up to date knowledge of the British National Curriculum
- Recent relevant teaching experience
- Own transport could be an advantage but not essential
- Eligibility to work in the UK
