The Organisation:
My client is one of the leading property consultancies and provides a full range of Commercial, Residential and Rural Services. They are looking to take on an Associate Landscape Architect and Urban Designer to manage and have quality assurance of the team and to proactively develop the portfolio and provide specialist advice to clients. There is the opportunity for career progression to the Head of Department within this role.

Responsibilities:
• To proactively develop a portfolio of new clients together with building relationships with existing clients from which fee earning business is generated;
• To take forward new job enquiries, prepare fee proposals, and assist in the preparation of strategies;
• To undertake site assessments to establish landscape architect constraints and assess development potential including detailed inspections, planning histories, and policy analyses;
• To undertake Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments;
• To prepare, submit, monitor and promote the landscape input of planning applications in accordance with agreed client instructions;
• To provide professional landscape advice and support to Planning Consultants;
• To prepare evidence for local plan inquiries and appeals by the most appropriate method;
• To prepare planting plans for submission to the relevant Local Authority;
• To provide ad hoc landscape advice to clients as and when instructed ;
• To contribute positively to the overall development of the Firm including marketing establishing and developing relationships with existing and new clients and the overall management of the Firm;
• To undertake line management duties within LAUD - Cambridge in order to coordinate and manage the quality and quantity of the team`s output;
• To undertake any other duties of a landscape/town planning or administrative nature as reasonably required.

Required Skills:
• A degree or graduate diploma (or equivalent) in Landscape Architecture;
• Full membership of the Landscape Institute with at least post part IV membership experience;
• Professional experience in Landscape Practice or in a relevant area in Central or Local Government, with working experience of the English planning system;
• Experience in the preparation of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments, planting plans, masterplans, photomontages, 3D visualisation and working drawing packages;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to "sell" the work of the team both internally and externally;
• Able to initiate and prioritise work and meet deadlines without jeopardising quality;
• Able to proactively attract and develop new instructions and clients;
• Energy and enthusiasm in leading and developing the work of the team.
Desired:
• Qualification in Urban Design;
• Member of the Royal town Planning Institute;
• Fully conversant in AutoCad 2005, Photoshop and other CAD and graphics packages.
