The School

The School offers a broad and balanced curriculum that caters for individual needs and talents. By engaging pupils in their education, we help them develop skills for lifelong learning. Whilst our curriculum is grounded in the expectation of pupils gaining important mathematical, literacy and scientific skills, we also offer flexibility and choice. All pupils study towards GCSEs in English, Maths and RE. They also choose to study GCSEs and other national qualifications in a wide range of subject areas including Art, Drama, Geography, History, ICT, Languages, Music, PE and Science.
The school has a highly motivated team of teachers who ensure that all our pupils work at a pace that challenges them and homework is set regularly to encourage them to take responsibility for their own progress. Academic development is tracked through the setting of targets and regular assessment. We work closely with parents to develop personalised learning programmes and provide regular progress updates through our online reporting system and
Parents' Evenings.

The Child

The school aims to support pupils with special educational needs and those who are experiencing barriers to learning. We operate a system of in-class support which enables all pupils to access the curriculum. The Pupil Support Faculty encourages all parents and carers to get involved in their child?s learning.
