Our client has been at the forefront of global mobile satellite communications for over thirty years, and is the leading provider of voice and high-speed data communications for users on land, at sea and in the air. They are a FTSE 250 company with a profitable track record and significant growth aspirations. The next few years will see the exciting realisation of business opportunities on the company's existing fleet of 10 satellites, as well as the launch of a joint venture with the European Space Agency and the company's next generation satellites and services.

This is a paid internship opportunity. Salary as follows: pre-university students - £960/pm, studying for/having completed their 1st first degree - £1,425/pm, studying for/completed their 2nd degree (MA/PhD) - £1,550/pm.

How you can expect to spend your day:

This company is looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual seeking to gain an insight into the marketing function of an international corporation. The principal purpose of the internship is to learn how to assist the development of proposals and marketing collateral to maximise awareness of the company's aviation services to their key contacts in the marketplace. In this role you will learn how to provide valuable support to a small and very dynamic team and will be comfortable carrying out routine tasks individually and as part of a team. Day-to-day activities will include:

Communications
* Gain experience in the development of literature (product sheets, brochures) from concept development to final delivery.
* Support in production and delivery of materials for events and workshops including give-aways.
* Gain an insight into the creation and distribution of newsletters and other direct communications.
* Support in liaising with central marcoms to ensure aviation news is published on all channels (LiftOff, .com, Twitter, LinkedIn).

Administration
* Insight into general administrative support to management (expenses, contacts).
* Attend team meetings and be willing to contribute to other team activities as requested.

The ideal intern's personality and qualifications:

Essential knowledge and skills:
* Background in or understanding of marketing.
* Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal.
* Advanced PowerPoint skills.
* Good administrative and IT skills (including Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel).
* Creativity and ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines.
* Attention to detail.
* Excellent team player.

* A confident communicator, you will be happy to liaise with team members, internal departments, suppliers and partners to help with marcoms activities.
* A natural facilitator of communication across organisational boundaries.
* Ability to identify problems quickly and take action.
* A willingness to learn from mistakes and progress.
